Why?We simply realized that religion is nonsense made up to keep people in line.because i dont believe in a religionChristianity is the reason people become atheist.Lack of faith.Because they cant find the answers in religion.You don't "become" an atheist. You are just brave enough to admit and embrace reality.Understanding.I remember the exact moment i became atheist. I was sitting in a cold, cold church at zero dark thirty, i think it was like 5:30am on a sunday. I was 14 at the time, sitting next to my older brothers and sister, and on my left were my parents. I looked around at all the people in the church, and none looked happy or like they even wanted to be there. So i go home, think about that for a bit and head to the library. I start some research on my own, and two days later it hit me. This is my life, i want to live MY life, not for someone who probably doesnt exist. As i got older it became even clearer to me that all this religious nonsense was just that, nonsense. I feel 100 pounds lighter, and i still get up early on sundays, yet i don't go to church, just the gym.I became an atheist by looking for evidence and finding none.LogicBecause we have cookies.Study different religions and you will realize why.Bigger question, why not?
For me it was that I didn't believe. There was nothing in dogma to convince me. And I'm tired of people trying. I respect your decision, why can't they respect mine?Because they don't want to submit to God's rules.They went thru all of the religions and realized that they were false...that they misled people, that they killed millions of people in religions name...and learned that the truth lies within....that religion is a crutch....and that they will not support that sort of mistreatment!Just good spelling ability I guess.I became one because I found no evidence of God.The better question is why do some people become theists - we are all born atheists.You don't become. You realize there is no god. The sweetest freedom in the universe when the realization that there is no god hit me. It's just the natural way of being, until you get brainwashed into the cult.Have you not read the parable of the sower?Because we find that the truth does not involve gods.Why do some people become doctors?For total control...an inability to humble themselves before a holy God. In essence, they become their own god...rebellious.
I don't see how a person could look out their window at creation and not KNOW there's a God. Unbelievable.Because we don't see any evidence, or need, for a god.
BTW, it's "atheist," not "athiest."
** DRINK **I was raised in a catholic family on an island of 95.8% of the population being roman catholics.
However as I grew up I was one of the few that started to question everything.
Why was THIS god the truth from all the known 25,000?
What proof did I have of his existance?
What is faith but a belief in something not known to exist?
I then researched a few common religions but all of them left me asking the same answers. This is where my passion for Science kicked in.
Through science I was able to start understanding my world better. I started looking at things in a different way. I started respecting people more and my IQ rose. I also did very well in school.
I assumed, that if there ever was a god, he wouldn't want me to waste my life thinking of him.
He would want me to respect and learn about the world he gave us to live in. Why have faith in your 'creator' and not give a damn about the life he gave you?
So as long as there is no evidence of god, I will assume he doesn't exist. As absence of evidence is evidence of absence.Here's the thing, not only is there no god, but there is actually no good reason to believe there is. Everyone is born an atheist, it's just that most people are taught to have faith in a nonexistent god before they are old enough to think critically, and they carry that baggage with them for the rest of their lives.
Atheists are those who either didn't get indoctrinated as children or managed to get rid of the superstitions their parents drilled into them.i am personally would become a athiest because many churches teaches from the bible yet because in different ways which would confuse people and make them give up all together#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
