Why do R&S regulars frequently spell atheistS without an S?

  • Is there only one atheist? Yeah That's it!!!!!

    Hmmm...

    Better that than "athiest", though.

    If you're going to put yourself out as some kind of expert on
    religion, it would be a good start to know that "atheist" and
    "theist" come from Greek, not English. Basic stuff, but oh so
    telling about how little they really know.

  • Pluralisation or is it for Saturn the star of joy.


  • And why do they spell it "athiest"?

    Why do they not know the difference between "then" and "than"?

    Why don't they know that "there" "they're" and "their" are not interchangeable?

    Why do they use "it's" when they mean "its"?

    Because some people don't care that sloppy writing makes them seem ignorant and not worth taking seriously.


  • Because they know that some of us find it irritating.


  • I always assume that English isn't their first language- other than that there's no excuse for it.


  • I'm already happy when they get the e and the i in the right order.


  • It makes life easier.
