Why are African Americans saying berbers are black?

  • Berber is not a race, it is a linguistic-cultural diverse group of peoples.

    The language spoken is native to Africa and so as it's majority of the Berber peoples. I haven't heard from any African Americans calling the Berbers black.

    Although saying all are white is nothing other than a nonsensical hypothesis.

    edit: There are Berbers along the North African coast with such features as blonde hair and blue eyes. But the truth is many do not have a white "looking" appearance. In actual fact "most" overall look black. If you saw many from a distance you would think they were black. And surprisingly enough, most of the ones who do "look" white even have black linage.

  • HI THERE. I AM A ALGERIAN OF BERBER ORIGIN AND AM BLACK. MY BERBER ORIGINS COME FROM THE TUAREG TRIBE. IT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHO. SOME BERBERS LOOK WHITE, SOME LOOK BLACK AND SOME JUST APPEAR MIXED

    21.5% of Berbers have sub-Saharan ancestry in them North Africa use to be populated by black people if you didnt know
