What are the cliches in journalistic writing? And contrary, what are the "fresh" and popular terms?

March 14th, 2010 by , under nnmj.com.

"Cliches" come and go faster than you can shake a stick at them. They are a dime a dozen, or cheaper by the dozen. Sometimes they light up like a christmas tree (when the police get a dozen calls on a meteor) and sometimes you'll shake your head in disbelief.
Oh, wait, all of those phrases are cliches!
Hehehe, gotcha.
Sometimes a reporter will coin a fresh phrase, but it'll soon spread and be used by other reporters, then it will become a cliche, but the supply of new ones is endless.
