See link, and read the last sentence if nothing else (i'll type it for you here even)
"We can hunt anytime we want, anywhere we want, no matter what anybody says.
http://www.economist.com/world/americas/...Actually the Economist is pretty far to the left of center - - - I'm surprised that they'd print something that cast any doubt on man-made warming as the cause of a single polar bear death.
Maybe someone should explain to Kimmy though that the polar bear population isn't in fact declining. There are roughly five times as many polar bears as there were in the 1950s.Nothing quite as nice as a big white bear rug. I wonder if they'll take my order for one... There are more polar bears now than ever. It is a lie that they are somehow endangered by global warming. Last time I hear Polar Bear is increasing.. I think the medias on internet need to be exposed and monitoring. I believe since we are in an internet age, we get thousand facts and fictions on internets that cause our head spin to believe " which one more is true or false one" I think we need some kind of education where help us more educated at knowing which is true or not and become smarter than these people who write about Polar Bears being endgared species or not. I know the leftists wild life activists just want to say something negative about the Polar Bears to gain the control of environments. I don't mind when they want to be superiority in control of the environments, but I would wish they will tell the truth of Polar Bear's increasing right now, In side of eskimos hertiage, eskimos never live being the vegetarians for thousands of years. They lived for hunting fish, and the meats. It is hard for them to change the thaousand age - years culture. Look at some Americans who choose to eat beef, chicken, and fish, we do not hunt any more like our ancestors had in 1800's, that's because those days they don't have markets to keep them frozen. Had to eat them freshly and right away. Look at Indians who live in reservation who still eats elks or bison's. Before creating reservations for Indians back in 1800's, Indians used to hunt for Buffalo meat, and fish, and use buffalo for clothing. We need to understand how eskimos live and accept their ways as long as not need to attack them about the Polar Bears. Need to compromise in this issue some how with the enviornmental activists with respectively to eskimos.Clearly not considering how few native americans there are killing polar bears. They key words in the article would be "As if global warming weren t problem enough..."As a Native American, I challenge and question your right
to call us savages and un-intelligent. I take what you say
as the rantings of a white eyes that knows not what he speaks. My Native brothers to the North of the territories
in Canada, Have been caretakers of the wild life in there
region for centurys, There management and protocal is
above reproach. So if you find yourself standing alone on
this plat form of blather you have regurjated don't feel made. This would not surprise me at all. Pita goes nuts every year when some of the tribes take their treaty allotment of whales!how about quoting the entire last paragraph instead of just the part that suits your agenda.
"Mr Qillaq, who chairs the Kanngiqtugaapik Hunters and Trappers Organisation, laughs at the notion that hunting will harm the polar bear population. Numbers are just numbers, he says. We live here, so we know what s really going on in the north. We can hunt anytime we want, anywhere we want, no matter what anybody says.
the ice is not melting at an alarming rate. in case you haven't noticed global warming is a lie to get YOU and everyone else who is falling for it to pay more taxes. the ice cover is even more now than last year at this time and growing faster than at any other time.
"An abnormally cool Arctic is seeing dramatic changes to ice levels. In sharp contrast to the rapid melting seen last year, the amount of global sea ice has rebounded sharply and is now growing rapidly. The total amount of ice, which set a record low value last year, grew in October at the fastest pace since record-keeping began in 1979."
the polar bear population is just fine.
"The latest government survey of polar bears roaming the vast Arctic expanses of northern Quebec, Labrador and southern Baffin Island show the population of polar bears has jumped to 2,100 animals from around 800 in the mid-1980s."
and how dare you tell a people who have lived in that area for thousands of years that they can not hunt what has been their main food for as long! you actually think they would hunt polar bears to extinction? you must have them confused with your own people who have done that many times.
you don't like native people and that's your real agenda here. try minding your own business.Kimmy -
The polar bear population is increasing not decreasing. It quadrupled during the later half of the 20th centuryStone age savages? Endangered species? Neither of these statements is anywhere close to being true. In fact some of these 'savages' have become successful businessmen, doctors, university teachers and politicians. These same savages own several modern-equipped and profitable airlines (some with large jets) and speak more languages than you likely can. They also happen to have been here for over 4,000 years, compared to our 400. If you did your homework and learned what it actually takes to hunt polar bears (maybe you could share the information with the writer of that ridiculous article) you'd see a well balanced hunt that is first and formost designed to ensure longetivity of the species, not it's demise. Yes, they can hunt when and where they please, and under that law the number of polar bears (in all 19 populations) has increased from 5,000 to 25-30,000 in the last half century. And contrary to what you've heard global warming hasn't played a part in their lives at all. They haven't even noticed it.Ok well i understand that these people are hunting these polar bears at a rapid pace right now, but the overall decline in the polar bear population is caused by global warming. There wouldn't be such a little amount of polar bears if so much of their ice caps hadn't been melted due to a rise in climate.
It's very sad :(#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
