March 11th, 2010 by , under nnmj.com.

  • hi
so tomorrow i have another riding lesson and im gonna ask my trainer to move to the next level.
right now im in beg. jump eventho in the group below me, u learn to jump.
this is what i can do:
    walk
    trot
    canter
canter a course of 8 jumps SafelY
IVE JUMPED up to 2 foot
    canter circles
    figure eights
    lead changes
    twopoint at the canter
And the only diffrence in the next group is
that you ALWAYS jump 2 feet
normally i do 18 inches vertically or sometimes x-rails
So do you think im ready to do all 2 feet jumps?
i have done ONE course of 2 feet jumps and i did really well. it was at a schooling show ( longgg story)
    So yea thanks
( wish me luck that Ill move up!! LOL!)

  • sounds to me like you are, and you can all but give it a go =]
i certainly wouldnt have you down as being a begginner,
to me a bigginner is someone who has an unbalanced seat and no idea of how to ride,
you sound plenty confident enough to be moving up
    =]

  • i would definatley say your ready to move up, but if your trainer doesnt for whatever reason, just ask her why and you need to work on to get there. hopefully youll be moving up soon! good luck!!! =]

  • Yes you should move up to the next level! Good Luck!!!

  • If you feel comfortable with it, then definitely go for it...if your instructor doesnt think your ready, then thats her decision, but you sound ready (of course, I've never actually seen you ride...so I wouldn't know if you are or not...) but its basically about your comfort level and confidence...good luck!

  • Well, if you feel comfortable and confident go for it! It never hurts to ask your trainer to move up, but don't be disheartened if she's not ready for you to move up. Good Luck!

  • If you have safely done a 2 ft course, then yes you should ask your trainer. Don't be discouraged, however, if she doesn't let you move up. Wait about 2 or 3 months to refine your techniques, and overall balance better. If you feel you should move up, do it. Don't be like me. I am stuck in the proverbial training rut. I have been doing training level dressage for about a year now, and fear I will never move past it unless I switch barns.
    Happy Riding!

  • um i think so
its not like 2 feet is huge, it sounds like you could handle it
and 1'6 is only 6 inches shorter
    it seems like your fine
    good luck

  • WOW your trainer would be very wrong not to put you up to the next level i think that you sound like a advanced rider if you can jump 18 inches definatly ask!!
