» Is the over-zealousness of religion the reason many Atheists come about?
I know a ton of people who went to Catholic school and came out either flat out Atheist or just skeptical of all religion. I never agreed with the way Catholic school was done, and it seems very anti-Christian. I still am Catholic though. Do you also think that many Christians miss the point of Christianity? That being the betterment of the individual and man kind. It's a start, but logically speaking, just because one religion is completely wrong doesn't mean gods don't exist. Of course, the wrongness of a religion makes you ask yourself, if there really is a god why are all of the people who worship it so messed up? By the way, the point of Christianity is not to better yourself and mankind. The point is for you ...... - 2010-02-07

It doesn't matter if a person is black or white they still shouldn't be saying it! But when a black person says it to another black person they aren't saying it in a racist way, the person isn't discriminating against the other black person. Most of the time if a white person calls a black person the 'n' word they are discriminating and are racist but if you go to the ghetto you'll hear white people call their friends this and their black friends will call them the same. So it depends on how they are saying it, either way I think it's wrong to call people this. You hear it so much in rap, mostly gangsta rap which mostly relates to the ghetto. So, in 2006 I was an exchange student in Japan for a year. I had never taken a formal Japanese class but while I was in Japan I learned Japanese pretty good. To the point where I could hold a casual conversation in Japanese. And my reading and writing is decent. Since I have been back in America I have been trying hard to keep up my Japanese skills. There are no Japanese classes available where I live and I can only do so much with books and software programs. In 2 years I will be transfering to San Francisco State University where I will be able to take Japanese classes, but untill then, whats the best way for me to keep study Japanese?Have you ever heard of an SRS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaced_repetition)? They're good for learn...... - 2010-02-07
» FM 2006/Winning Eleven (aka Pro Evolution Soccer)
Yes I have both games, and both games distract me immensely!! :D Btw, I have question. In WE9, for free kicks, is there a button to press to make my players go all the way up to contest for headers in the box or near the box? It always seems as though the players even in coming-from-behind situations are too close to the freekick that when I loft the ball towards the penalty box, the gk will always get it. Any suggestions? Is FM "Football Manager"? If so, I just want to mention that the best football management computer game series is by far the Anstoss series :D. Can't wait for Anstoss 6, coming out this year!Is FM "Football Manager"? If so, I just want to mention that the best football management computer game series is by far...... - 2010-02-07

» Difference between these performance car modifications?
What is the difference between a super charger and a turbo charger???Well, one major difference is price. Superchargers can start at $1500, while turbos can be only a few hundred. The second major difference is the way in which they work. Turbochargers are attached to both the intake and exhaust systems, and consist of two turbines. The exhaust that comes out of the engine under pressure spins the exhaust turbine, which in turn spins the intake turbine. This forces more air into the engine (specifically the cylinder), allowing more fuel to be added, and therefore more bang for every explosion in the cyliner. It does not rob the engine of any power and is common on big diesel engines to add power. Superchargers are belt-driven. This...... - 2010-02-07

» Nukudonarudo v McDonalds
There was a whopper of a battle between a sex service in Chiba and hamburger behemoth McDonald's that left the call girl business far from lovin' it. The sex service called itself Nukudonarudo, a play on words taken from nukeru, slang Japanese for ejaculation, and Makudonarudo, the local pronunciation of McDonald's. "We thought it'd be better to have a name with impact. It came about by coincidence because there was a McDonald's restaurant in front of us at the time we were meeting to discuss the service name," the operator of Nukudonarudo tells Shukan Gendai. "In this business, it's better to create a bit of a stir, so we didn't mind if they sued us." Nukudonarudo also copied McDonald's menus to label its sex services. While the ...... - 2010-02-07
» T4a. Are wrestling skills really necessary to get over?
Not necessarily. To be the best in a promotion these days, you don't need to be exceptional. You can just have a really good following and stick to the basics. Also, gimmick plays a lot into this.Honestly, as much as I hate to say this, no its not. Many wrestlers such as Batista get over with the crowd even if they don't have many good wrestling skills. Today, WWE fans pay attention to different things (such as gimmicks, looks, character, size, etc.) besides skills that make them like a wrestler. Obviously, it shouldnt be like that but unfortunately it is.Nope I've Seen Face's and heel's on occasion get over without/or very little in-ring ability the ability to be marketed is a major factor, also the appeal to th...... - 2010-02-07
» I noticed I need a FTP site or whatever that is
those are free right?? I mean are the free ones as good as the paid ones ect. where can i find a free ftp ect?? I want to buy vb and a host right now. but i just noticed the ftp thing and it caught me off guardSorry, I don't understand what you mean. Please explain. He's getting ftp confused with hosting.I'll help him out here: FTP is "File Transfer Protocol" it is a means of transfering your files to your server (your host), there are a lot of FTP software out there, including SmartFTP, to do exactly what I just said. Your server is also your host. These costs money, anything from 50 bucks to at least under 300 bucks, depending on your server's specs. Your host is the company serving your needs with your server. » Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse: Edward or Jacob? Who would you choose?
I would personally choose Edward...he has honestly captured my heart...and he is just so perfectEdward. He is just such a classically romantic figure of a guy. The reason we are all in love with him is becuz he embodies everything we women like in our men. Brains, beauty, strength, heart, mystery & a sense of danger. All women are attracted to these things so that's what makes him so appealing to us all. I think he is really a great character & I can't wait to read his side of the story in "Midnight Sun".EDWARD EDWARD EDWARD!!! edward is not perfect in every way... which almost makes him even more perfect. » Wordpress PHP/RSS/ANYTHING in flash?
Hello, Pardon any pending noobishness, but... Does anyone know how to import wordpress generated rss (the wp-rss2.php file I'm assuming) into flash? Actually hoping to import in any format. Looking to use the WP admin to blog, Flash to display. I'm using the latest version of word press (1.5) and Flash 8, but have other versions of Flash available at work. It seems like it should be simple. Like most difficult things, I guess.. Thanks for stress/headache relief in any form :) RodgerWell, the RSS that is generated is generated in the form of an XML file. So PHP, the technology, interprets the code, and outputs an xml file, although the file ends in .php. So you would load this in the same way as an XML file. There's a good ...... - 2010-02-07

» Why do some people become athiest?
Why?Because we don't see any evidence, or need, for a god. BTW, it's "atheist," not "athiest." ** DRINK **I remember the exact moment i became atheist. I was sitting in a cold, cold church at zero dark thirty, i think it was like 5:30am on a sunday. I was 14 at the time, sitting next to my older brothers and sister, and on my left were my parents. I looked around at all the people in the church, and none looked happy or like they even wanted to be there. So i go home, think about that for a bit and head to the library. I start some research on my own, and two days later it hit me. This is my life, i want to live MY life, not for someone who probably doesnt exist. As i got older it became even clearer to me that al...... - 2010-02-07
» Ebay research
Hey all, as you know I am making my DSLR purchase soon. In fact, yesterday I got my income tax check in... which I got excited about, but also nervous because it means I need to make my decision like... NOW! lol SO I have been looking on eBay, as you all know, but I really think I've decided to go against that, and buy from a reuptable source. But I learned something. Don't take the 98% to be good. I started reading through one persons comments, and understandable there were some negatives, as is with almost anyone on eBay. What bothered me was actually their RESPONSES to the negative feedback. Usually responses are "Will call and try to work this out" or "WIll fix w/customer"... but this one company, who claims to be the LARGEST CA...... - 2010-02-07

I just need to come up with something to hold me through until tomorrow afternoon. I am looking for specific references (websites, contact info) for software project management systems that meet the criteria I have listed below. The elements that are listed as ?mandatory? are disqualifiers if not present, although if a project management software firm is willing to code the changes I need, then they can be included on the list. » embedded Album-Art (.flac) not showing
Hi guys, I have a little problem ... Right now I am tagging my music collection in order to use it with the XBMC library. I'm using the flac-codec, the files are made with flac 1.1.3 or 1.1.4, so they should support embedded Album-Art. I embedded the covers using Mp3Tag v2.38. I transferred some files to my xbox and created a database, but in the library view, I can't see a cover. The normal file-view doesn't work, too. Usually I use thumbs with a size of 500x500 but I also tried with 128x128, they also didn't work. btw: mp3's with embedded Album-Art are working fine ... some facts: XBMC SVN rev8690 Project Mayhem III (also tried Containment) Files converted using foobar2000 0.9.3, FLAC 1.1.4, ID3V2.3-Tags Does anybody have an ide...... - 2010-02-07
» Paganism other than Shinto and Buddhism in Japan
This goes for everything. Including Hinduism and other non-Japanese Asian Pagan religion. Though what I'm particularly interested in is if eclectic Paganism exists in Japan at all. So surely something like a Shinto Druid Odinist exists right?kireikoori: what could you tell as about thos religion? do you believe at one of those religion?? cohen avshalom charly israel /haifaI would bet you'd find very, very little of what you seem to talking about, kireikoori san, but one that puzzles me, is your use of the word 'paganism!' » Who is willing to put their life on the line for a person, cause, or belief system if it came down to that?
Please state that cause, and identify that person or belief system if it exists and why.I am. I would try to save my family members, or even a helpless person in some cases. I already have as well. I would die to keep my country free. If I thought I was keeping my country free, I would die for it. PEACE!!For my family and friends yes. However, a cause or belief system no. I think that it is a contradiction to lay your life down for a cause, as if you are so 'pro' something, surely it is better to spread the word of the cause, try to show people the reasons why you believe so strongly in it. If you are to die for it, then you can no longer show people these reasons... thus making your utter belief in it redundant? There ar...... - 2010-02-07

» FURBLE PUZZLE
One of my collueges asked me this question. I came up with a solution but it was apparently wrong. Lets see if you can come up with a solution. Good luck! Consider two breeding strategies of the fictional Furble. Dominator Furbles can fight for a breeding territory, and if they win, will be able to rear 10 offspring. An alternative is to share territory with another Furble which will allow each to rear 5 offspring. Sharers who attempt to share with dominators will be forced out of the territory, although they will be able to find a new territory. Assume sharers become extra cautious after encountering a dominator and so will always find another territory to share the next time around, but due to lost time will only be able to produce 3...... - 2010-02-07
